On September 13, 2014, Daren (D.A.R.E. Mascot) and D.A.R.E. Officer Floyd Hastings visited the Handi-Capable Camp at Bradford Woods in Martinsville, Indiana.
Handi-Capable Camp provides outdoor recreation and overnight camping in scenic Southern Indiana for approximately 100 physically, mentally, and emotionally handicapped people each year. These campers get a chance to enjoy outdoor activities they’ve never been able to try. Most important, these campers see themselves become a part of these activates, thus boosting their morale and confidence.
This was the 6th year Daren and Officer Hastings have been at the camp. This year Daren was on the Walk-of-Heroes walk, along with Smokey the Bear, military personnel and firefighters. The campers were able to have their photos taken with Daren and Officer Hastings’ Car.
